~ Spooky Genting Highlands ~

Genting Highlands is one of the most famous tourist destination in Malaysia. Dubbed as the city of entertainment, this tourist attraction is located above the hill range of Titiwangsa, which is about 6000 feet above sea level. However, some unaware visitors that had been to the place did mention of their strange encounters while staying there. Some people believe that this place is haunted by the spirits of the dead. It is a no surprise, as there are many cases of people committing suicide after losing in their gambling in the casino. To add to its creepy-ness, you may even spot yellowish, and sometime reddish threads that are hanged on the tree branches along the way from Batang Kali to Genting Highlands (it is said that these threads are used for some ritual purposes). An anonymous who had been to one of the hotel was completely shocked after finding a dead body laid in the closet in his hotel room, only to find out that the person was dead few hours ago after committing suicide, and the hotel paid him RM5K handsomely to shut his mouth. Below are some of the stories that I have collected from the internet based on the true experiences of the strange encounters in Genting Highland Resort. Believe it, or not? It is up to you to decide. :)

The HotelClub Travel Blog.Com, in their website ranked First World Hotel in Genting Highlands as the second most haunted Hotel in Asia:

Top 5 Ghost Hotels in Asia - by HotelClub Travel Blog.Com

5th place: Yu Shan Fan Dian, Cheng De, China

4th place: Asia Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand

3rd place: The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, India

2nd place: First World Hotel, Genting Highlands, Malaysia

Genting Highlands, the famous hill resort in Malaysia, is also known as one of the most haunted places in Malaysia. Paranormal incidents have been reported at the First World Hotel. Given that it is a casino resort, a lot of gambling-related suicides have happened over the years. There are eerie sounds in the middle of the night as well as apparitions of restless spirits. Locals even claim that some hotel rooms are never rented out even if the hotel is fully booked because occupants fall sick after their stay.

1st place: Grand Hyatt, Taipei, Taiwan

Below are some of the accounts of visitors that claimed they had encountered with the paranormal entities while staying in Genting Highlands, I only did some editing without changing the original contents of the stories. Enjoy.

1) The Pontianak of Genting Highland - as told by anonymous

I wonder if anyone have heard about this story before. It was a horrifying story some years ago about an encounter with a pontianak.

One late night on the old road to Genting Highlands, before the new road was opened, a couple, husband and wife were driving downward heading to their home after having their holidays. After passing a tunnel, weird sound started to appear under the hood of their car. Feeling curious, the husband decided to stop on the roadside to check the car's engine. There was no other car travelling on the road as it was late at night. The husband opened the hood of the car and began examining the engine with his torchlight.

While the husband was busy finding out what was wrong with his car, his wife sat quitely in the car waiting for him. After quite some time the husband was still busy with his car's checking. His wife just sat there patiently, and was wondering what had took him so long. The eerie silence was a little too much for her as there was not a single sound at all.

Suddenly, she heard a loud motorcycle's sound coming towards her car. In need of help, she called out the motorcyclist, who appeared to be a policeman. She was shocked as the policeman rushed to her, opened her car's door, and ordered her to quickly jump onto his bike. The wife hesitated at first, but seeing the policeman was in a state of shock, she obliged to his instruction.

Jumped onto his bike, she asked the policeman what was happening. The policemen didn’t give any reply back, but ordered her not to ever look back to her car. As they sped down the road, the woman took a peek at the side mirror of the motorcycle, and there she saw the most horrifying thing in her life— a pontianak with long hair and dressed in white was sucking her husband blood at the top of the car!

Her husband's corpse was found on the next day exactly on the same spot... but headless.

This story happened years ago, when the old road to Genting was still in use. Now that the new road is opened and there are more cars than last time, the road isn’t as deserted as before, so do not worry about the pontianak. However, do take precautions, especially when you hear some weird noises out of your car……

2) Who is Licking My Feet?? - as told by Shan Nair

Here’s my story of Genting Highlands. I am an insurance agent. My Insurance company would have conventions every year at any hotels in Malaysia. In the Year 2009, We (my company) held it at Genting Highlands . We were staying in First World Hotel during the convention. Me and my room mate Harun attended this convention and was enjoying every bit of it. The final event was a free for all where you can have as much of beer as you want and dance all night long. I had few mugs of Carlsberg to be honest more than my body could tolerate. I felt dizzy and extremely tired so I went back to my room leaving my room mate Harun in the crowd. Harun didn’t want to follow me to the room as he was enjoying himself with the party. We had our own separate key cards. I got to my room and dozed off.

Roughly about 2 hours of sleep or so, I was awaken by a feeling of ‘ TOUCH’. I could feel somebody licking the soles of my feet. In fact, I could feel the tongue licking the entire soles of my feet. I got full control of my senses and tried to justify the thing that was happening to me at that time. I was asking myself 100 questions, what on earth is the thing that is licking my feet? I dare not look at the ‘ PERSON’. After about 20 minutes, I braved myself and slowly raised my body and look at the ‘PERSON’ who was still, LICKING THE SOLES OF MY FEET. I could see it very clearly, as one wall lamp was still on , and the room is not so dark.To my greatest surprise, I saw my room mate Harun licking the soles of my feet as if he was licking a very delicious ice cream. I stared at him, he stared at me too and still kept on licking my feet.

A few seconds later he smiled at me, and I smiled back at him. I didn’t know what to do, how to stop him or the next course of action. I was not in full control of myself, as I have said earlier I was a bit drunk. Suddenly, I heard someone opening my room door, this is the CLIMAX of my experience , HARUN came in and switched on the main light of our room. The HARUN who was LICKING THE SOLES OF MY FEET for more than an hour just VANISHED. I didn’t tell anyone about the incident until we reached our home. That particular day, I didn’t sleep at all. The alcohol that I consumed earlier diluted as fresh mineral water inside my body when I saw my room mate, THE REAL HARUN entering my room. This was my real life experience that I am sharing with everyone. I could not give any advice to anybody on how to be extra careful or whatsoever, if any of this THINGS happened to you, you are on your own. Either you play along unknowingly or just keep your eyes close and let those things just pass by you. There is no Wrong or Right in anything that you may have done at that particular time. Bye.

3) The Screaming Lady of Amber Court - as told by Shelyn Lim

It was really cold and damp that afternoon. We stopped at the main entrance of Amber Court and gave second thoughts whether we should enter. Thanks to Wayne, he suggested we should have a look first since we've driven all the way here. As we entered the lobby, there was only one receptionist at the counter. The rest of the area was empty and hollow, all sundry shops were closed down, as if I have just entered a building under renovation. The entire building was so vacant you could listen to your echo traveling through the hallway. We asked to check in, and guess which floor we were given? It was freaking the 14th floor! According to Chinese superstition number 14 signifies a bad omen. I wanted to change to a lower level but the receptionist insisted it can't be done. I was thinking, there are no guests in this apartment so why the fuck is he being a bitch. It was his intention to get rid of us by giving us the haunted room I believe.

We took the lift up to the 14th floor, as doors opened and we saw no one, as it should be. Quiet and cold, we walked towards our room and Wayne inserted the keys. What a surprise, the door had padlocks, hm... weird. It took him awhile struggling to open the door, and out of no where I suddenly heard a girl howl like a wolf. It wasn't like someone getting raped yelling for help. It was the ideal howling of a female ghost. The howling lasted 5 seconds long and I swear I was not hallucinating. I didn't know where the scream came from so I looked around and everywhere, wondering where's the source of it. It was so weird, didn't seem to come from above or below. It was like a surround sound which went like "Aaaaaaaaaa......." with a long echo following. When it stopped, I turned around and asked the guys, "Did you hear what I just heard..?" With a pause, they nodded. Right away, I felt as though my legs were crippling.

Moments later, Wayne managed to open the door. I had no idea why we still wanted to check out the room after hearing noises. He pushed it open, it opened slowly with creeky noises. And, Eric the smart said, "Omg. Why is the fridge opened?" It was nothing really but his reaction caused panic in all of us so Wayne shut the door and all of us walked quickly to the lift and checked out. Lol. We wanted to run but the guys were pretending to stay cool and calm. When I returned the keys back to the receptionist, he did not question me at all. He obviously knows this place too well. It was barely 5 minutes and we heard voices already, let alone staying for the night. I still remember that scream so clearly in my head. I never believed in after life till then, although it was only a scream but it couldn't possibly occur in that situation which made me believe. We drove away as fast as we could. I will never ever go back to Amber Court, even if I get paid a thousand bucks! Ask anyone who knows, this place is truly haunted.

The sight of the entrance of Amber Court

The stained wall alone could make the visitors to think twice before staying here

4) An Unforgettable Experience - as told by Aisha (a British citizen who was travelling to Malaysia)

In 2007 I went to Malaysia on holiday, and myself and my husband decided to take a weekend trip up with 2 of our friends to this place called Genting Highlands. It is a resort that is built in the mountains about an hour away from the capital. It has a few rides and attractions, so a lot of families come up to get some fresh air. So we took off early in the morning and got the coach up there. On the way up I suddenly got very sick and was not feeling too great (T.O.M), so I was not in a good mood. Also this place is cold compared to normal land height, it is usually around 17C but this weekend it was around 11C, and it is incredibly misty!
Anyway so we hadn't reserved a hotel place, and there was nothing available that we could afford, so we asked around and managed to find a hotel that did have space, only it was about a 15 minute drive from the main park. So at 200 ringgit a night we agreed!

We all piled into this minivan and started to make our way to our hotel, and we starting passing all kinds of creepy stuff, like completely abandoned buildings and building projects that had been left. The van was totally quiet and we had to stop a couple of times to wait for the fog to clear. I can't really describe what that road up there was like, apart from maybe it was like post-zombie apocalypse meets the shining?
So we finally pull up to our hotel and i was not a happy bunny.

Saying this place was creepy is the understatement of the century!!! I knew from the moment I looked at it that there was something very wrong about it all. I don't want to sound like a weirdo, but lets just say I have very good intuition. I am very perceptive of my environment, and can definitely feel certain things...
The place was deserted, and I honestly mean that. I think we must have been one of the only people in that place...we got into this creepy-ass elevator and got to our level and thats where the real fun began. Inside the apartment there was a kitchen and living room, and then 2 separate bedrooms with their own en-suites. You could not see anything out of the window as it was sooo misty! A bit like being inside a cloud :s the entire place groaned and the wind made the worst kind of noise against the windows, real howling!

I wanted to take a shower but the water was freezing and stopped after a while..i was really moody at this point and hungry so my hubby and his mate decided to go downstairs to see if there was a shop or something and left me and my gf alone. We were in the living room chilling and then my friend suddenly said that she was a bit tired and feeling a bit ill so she went to lie down in her bed. I went into my room to put some makeup on and I left my bedroom door open. So i was messing about in my room and I heard the guys come in and make noise in the kitchen, moving stuff around so I was happy cos i thought they had brought some food.

So you said you would like to spend a night here?

Anyway I went out and they weren't in the main room! I thought they had maybe gone into the other bedroom but i looked inside and my friend looked up from her bed looking all puzzled. I asked her where the guys were and she looked a bit confused and said that she guessed they were still downstairs..at this point i was very scared so i sat down on the sofa in the living room going over what i just heard. i was 100% sure i had heard noises from the living room as my door was wide open! i then looked down at my fingernails and I remember that they had turned blue! Then this the freaky part...I really hate heights, I freak out over it and have a panic attack. But i looked at the window and for some reason I wanted to look out. I walked over and opened the window, and felt the cold air and mist. I looked down and it looked like a very long drop, and I kept on thinking how easily I could fall out..and suddenly i felt like something was glaring at me, and I kind of snapped out of it and shut the window and spun round.

At that moment the guys came back with some food and they were laughing and joking. I asked my husband if he had gone out twice, to which he replied no, so i pushed all that creepiness to one side, thinking i was probably a little sleepy and imagining things. We left the hotel and went to the main park, and returned later that night. With all that crazy fog im really surprised we did not get lost in those highlands. That night was uneventful, though i did wake up a couple of times in the night but buried myself under the covers!

I told my hubby my story a while after we stayed and looked very concerned. He isn't into ghost stories and stuff but he seemed to think that i might have been drawn towards the window?! and that he had heard that the whole area up there was haunted...greatttt cos I didn't know any of this stuff but if i had I would have paid more to stay at another hotel! I really don't like scary stuff...

Amber Court; many of its units are available for sales at low price now!

5) Chained Secret Room - as told by blackdra 19

I've heard friends saying that, during their stay in an Ria Apartment in Genting Highlands, they came across this mysterious lift that was accessible to a secret floor and rooms! OK, the story goes like this -> One night after supper, they were heading back to their room and, while waiting for the elevator, they lost their patience as it took so long for the lift to come down. As a result, they took a staff elevator. The staff elevator is usually locked to prevent the public from using it but not that night!

As they stepped into the elevator, they saw an unusual floor number button and, out of curiosity, they pressed that strange button and it brought them to a dark, secret floor. Once the lift door was opened, what they saw totally scared the **** out of them! The door right in front of them ... was totally chained up and filled with amulets or "fu" and there were even red candles beside the door. Without any hesitation, they quickly closed the elevator door and before doing so, one of my friend took a peek out of the elevator. Apparently this floor was unoccupied and deserted.

Till these days we simply can't understand why on earth the whole floor of the apartment was left deserted and unoccupied??

Lets take a break for a while, I found an interesting article from The Star Online, dated January 17th 2009, about a Singaporean granny who went missing in Genting Highlands for a week - only to be found at Singapore later on. The strange thing is that the granny managed to cross the Malaysia - Singapore border without any travel documents or bus ticket. Surely she wouldn't have swim across the Malacca Straits either as she was already 73 years old during the time of her disappearance. Security loopholes? Or she was actually guided by "something" throughout her journey back home?

I quoted this from The Star Online:

"SINGAPORE: A grandmother who went missing in Genting Highlands a week ago has been found – in Singapore.

The 73-year-old, who suffers from mild dementia and depression, somehow managed to travel more than 400km south and across the border without her passport and bus ticket, and with a handbag containing less than $20 in Singapore currency.

After almost six days of frantic searching, the family of Voon Choot Yin finally found her waiting for them at a police station in Tanglin yesterday. However, she could not tell them how she made her way back from Genting Highlands. Her sandals, bag and watch were missing.

She was spotted at 3.30am yesterday by Tommy Lin, 34, a resident of Kim Yam Heights in River Valley."

6) The Uninvited Guest of Ria Apartment - as told by Heibaiwuchang

It's time for me to share the experience that I once have promised to share it out...

In the last mid autumn festival, my family had decided for a trip to Genting Highlands for 2 days and I helped them to book an unit of Ria Apartment. I rented the apartment as it was located nearby my hostel and I haven't heard any complaint about it before. The apartment is in Pahang Tower, room number 19406 and it is on 19th floor...

Apartment Ria : Pahang Tower

During the first day I rented it, I checked the room by myself to make sure everything is fine and safe for my parents and family members to stay and I found out everything to be perfectly normal. I brought them to enter the apartment, let them have a rest and prepared for the lunch.. So far everything was fine during the first day of our stay there...

Everything is about to change on the second day. We finished our breakfast early in the morning, and decided to play at the outdoor and indoor theme park until evening (about 3-4p.m). The weather began to change and it was raining soon after that. My second brother and his wife, my nephew and my mom decided to head back to our apartment while me, my sister and my girlfriend were to continue our rides in the indoor theme park. Strange things happened that day when my family arrived back into the apartment...

Ria Apartment : looks much better than Amber Court? (pictured as advertised)

While my sister in law was napping in one of our room, suddenly she heard a man's voice whispering beside her ear, saying " Why so fast to leave? Why don't stay a little bit longer here?" in Cantonese. My sister in law ignored the voice and continued her nap. She kept this strange occurrence to herself and only told us about it after she left the place, as she didn't want to frighten my girlfriend that was staying with us.

That night my girlfriend was hanging out with her friends, and my family had already left the place. It was me all alone staying in the apartment. I decided to take a bath to ease myself after a day long activities. All of a sudden, I could feel a strong wind blew at my back and the mop in the toilet suddenly fall down to the floor. I was freaked out as if someone was purposely pushing the mop to the floor, I was nervous and started scolding towards the "unknown" entities. I yelled hash words by saying "I'm just taking my bath and not going to disturb you stupid F**ker!!" After finishing my bath, I headed back to my room as I kept all of my powerful amulets there and began to recite some mantras which I believe have driven away the evil force. After that, I burnt some joss stick and made some offerings outside the main door...

P/s : My conclusion is that the room number 19406 of Pahang Tower At Ria Apartment is haunted... Stay alert people.

7) The Phantom of Genting Highlands Hill - as told by getah

This case happened to us when we were still studying in a local University years ago.

My friend's girlfriend decided to have a birthday party with her ex in Genting Highlands ( i know that sound weird but that was the thing that exactly happened! ). We had actually warned her earlier to never go to the place but she refused to listen. My friend (who was her boyfriend) reluctantly allowed her to celebrate her birthday on the hill but with one condition; she must be back to KL before 9pm at the same night.

That night, my friend was anxious as there was still no news from her girlfriend. The clock struck 11pm at night and finally his girlfriend gave him a call, asking him to fetch her back to KL as she had no transportation there. Without any choice left, we companied him to fetch her girlfriend back from Genting Highlands by driving a Proton Wira.

There were four of us on the car. It was dark at night. The car was quite old and we were not really sure whether the car could make it to the top of the hill. One of my friend asked the driver whether his car was still in the good condition to reach Genting Highlands. The driver who was a friend of us, who was known to be boastful said : "Apasal tak larat pulak, walaupun turbo takde tapi kalau setakat nak berlumba dengan antu goh tong tu lepas lah.. ( trans: Why do you think my car can't make it? Even though my car doesn't have a turbo but it is still capable of racing with the spirits living there )* We were already at the junction heading towards Genting Highland by that time.

During our journey heading to the top of the mountain, the driver suddenly became quiet. The car was climbing the hill slowly. We had been thinking it must be because of our weight that had made the car to travel so slow. We spend our time by listening to the radio in the car. All of a sudden, the driver suddenly pulled the emergency brake. We were surprised at first as there was no heavy mist around, even the weather was good that night. We safely reached Genting Highlands at 1a.m, picked up my friend's girlfriend and left the place immediately to KL.

We didn't make our way straight back to our home, instead we dropped by at a cafe in Ampang as our driver was looking exhausted. It was only at this time the driver told us about his ghostly encounter while driving along the hill just now. It appeared that while he was boasting that his car could easily race with the spirits that living there, suddenly a "white figure" passed by right beside his car which shock him and made him stay silent along the journey.  A few moment later he saw the same "white figure", this time standing still on the middle of the road towards the Highlands blocking the way (as if like the "white figure" was purposely challenging the driver to race with it!), and that was the time that the driver pulled off the emergency brake. To our surprise none of us sitting in the car saw the "white figure" except than the driver himself...

8) Mummy... Jie Jie Takes Thing and Eat from the Dustbin - as told by EDC Roch

This incident happened about five years ago when we decided to go for a weekend break away together with a few of our office colleagues to Genting Highland. Two of our colleagues, Tim and Dexter brought along their wife and kids. The only available accommodation that weekend was at the Ria Apartment due to the school holiday. Luckily enough, we got two units not far from each other. Dexter suggested that we tried our luck in the casino. Tim’s and Dexter’s wives, Ginny and Debra, however, decided to stay back with the kids to cook the dinner for all of us and so off we went with the rest of the girls and guys.

After a few hours of bets, we walked back to our apartment hungrily. Boy we were happy to find the dinner was ready. I could remember clearly that the dinner for the night was nasi lemak served together with other dishes that are most suitable for the cold weather. Throughout the night, I had noticed Ginny whispering to Tim a lot since we came back from the casino but Tim was cool all the time. Since everyone was pretty full after the dinner, we decided to spend the rest of the night gambling in the hall. We made a circle and Dexter was the banker since he won some money at the casino earlier. After a few rounds, we noticed Dexter’s young son, whom we call Ah Boy, aged 5 years old, kept standing near the kitchen and peering inside. All of us noticed that although no one had made any comment about it.

When Dexter noticed that, he called to Ah Boy to come over to us but Ah Boy did not bother responding. When his mum, Debra, called out loud to him once again and asked what is he doing there, he simply replied, “Mummy, jie jie take thing and eat from the dustbin!!”. At that point of time everyone of us froze and I felt shivers down my spine. Right immediately, we saw Ah Boy stepped backwards and shouted, “No!” and ran back to Debra hugging her closely. Still maintaining a very cool composure, Debra softly smacked Ah Boy’s butt asking him not to talk nonsense. Dexter, on the other hand, walked calmly to the kitchen but walked back saying nothing.

One of our colleague, Stacey began sobbing and suggested that we should leave the place. Dexter and Tim agreed and told us to go and pack up our things. We gathered downstairs and told everyone to go get our cars and meet up at McDonald’s Genting Sempah. As we left, we saw Dexter and Debra talking to someone at the reception . No one said anything throughout the whole journey downhill until we meet up again at McDonald’s. As we all gathered our thoughts trying to recover from the shock, it was not only until moments later when we started to relax are we able to discuss the incident again. According to Debra, Ah Boy saw a lady sitting on the kitchen floor picking up and eating the left over food from the trash bin. She even tried asking Ah Boy to come closer to her.

Then Tim start telling us that Ginny had told him that while they were cooking, she kept hearing a girl’s voice whispering behind her but could not hear exactly what she said. When she turned around, she could see no one behind her except Debra. When she asked Debra a few times what she said, Debra looked at her funnily and asked Ginny why she asked her that. At that point, Debra commented that she now only know why Ginny kept asking her what she said! Ginny then said she kept seeing a shadow walking around the hall but she thought she was having illusions. What freaked her out the most was when she saw someone standing behind her through the reflecting mosaic wall in the kitchen.

After some small talks, we all went out own way home cutting the weekend break short. It was indeed a freaky incident at Ria Apartment, Genting Highlands!

A Peek into Amber Court, Genting Highlands

*The photos below are obtained from Joshua Ong, who had been staying in Amber Court with his friends a couple of years ago.

The door of the room that is right beside their room; blocked by the wood for unknown reason

In the picture above you can see how close is their room with the "mysterious" room

Most of the shop lots are deserted; creepy atmosphere is always on the air

Wondering why some of the buildings were burnt and left abandoned after that

Why the door was blocked by the wood to prevent anyone from entering it? This question was asked earlier by a guy to a security guard that worked in the area, and here is his story...

" Many years ago a Chinese man rented this apartment unit. One day he decided to try his luck in the Casino on the hill, and turned out that he lost all of his gambling money. Heart broken, he lost his mind and decided to take his life into his own hand. That night he slit himself with a knife, and his dead body was found by the staff on the other day. Soon after his death a lot people that stayed in the room reported they saw the gruesome images of a man slitting his body, bleeding profusely in the room. It was like a video playback, as the horror scene repeated over and over again in front of them. That is why the hotel management finally decided to seal the room to prevent any hotel guest from entering it. "

9)  A Visit Through A Dream - as told by ummi_aiman

My husband swears that he will never step into Genting Highlands again! It was because of an incident that happened to us while we were staying in the First World Hotel a few years ago.

The window of our hotel room was facing the inner side of the hotel. That night my husband dreamt that someone was knocking the door from the outside of our room. Surprisingly, in the dream he saw me and our child were laying in the same position exactly as we were sleeping earlier. The door suddenly opened by itself, and an old Chinese woman appeared in front of him. In his dream, the lady was asking for a help from my husband, but somehow my husband seems to understand the request of the lady although they didn't talk to each other.

And guess what... the old lady was asking a favour from my husband to find the missing head of her child!

At the same moment after she mentioned of her request, her child climbed up from the window into our hotel room, wearing white clothes... with no head. The old woman begged my husband over and over to help her to find the missing head of her child ( my husband was scared, but still able to control his nerve by that time ). In the dream my husband replied politely to the old woman, saying that he couldn't do any favours, and asked her to find somebody else to help her. After a while later, the old woman and her child left my husband by saying thank you to him...

My husband only mentioned of his dream a week after we were back from Genting Highlands...

10) Never Travel Alone in Genting! - as told by hatesjaret

I was staying in First World Hotel in Genting Highland back then in the year 2009, on level 8 (I couldn't remember the room number anymore). I purposely went there without telling my friends as I want to experience what it's like to travel alone. I stayed there for three days two nights.

During my first night of staying there, I felt like the room was so hot although the air-conditioner was running as usual. I felt like my whole body was itchy after I laid on the bed ( maybe because the bed was dirty ). I was suddenly awaken at about 3 a.m by the voice of people talking. It sounds like people whispering out from the door. At first I didn't bother so much about it until the voice became louder and louder. I opened the door and surprisingly no body was at outside. I closed it back and took a cigarette out from my pocket to cool down myself. All of a sudden I could feel the wind blew towards my face and It caused the glass on the small table in my room to drop to the floor.

I was panicked by that time. Acting like everything was normal, I sat back on my bed looking at every corner of my hotel room. I spotted nothing weird and fall asleep back when the clock struck 4 a.m. I managed to catch a rest until the following morning.

On the following night as I was about to sleep, I was awaken once again around the same time as I felt someone was stepping on my legs. And guess what, as soon as I opened my eyes I could see a strange "figure" standing right at the end of my bed. That "figure" had a messy long hair that could touch the ground, but I couldn't see its face. It was wearing a slightly yellowish - stained white clothes ( the clothes looks like it had been buried for a long time under the soil ). I tried to scream but my voice was stuck under my throat. I was blurred and lost for a few while. The "figure" was so tall that it almost touches the ceiling of my hotel room. Mustering all of my courage, I grabbed my blanket and covered my face slowly. It disappeared from my room a few while later.

As soon as it disappeared,  I could hear the voice of people laughing. I thought my nightmare was already over until I heard the sound of the water tap running in the toilet of my hotel room. I was already like "what the fuck?!" and the tv near me suddenly switched on and off itself repeatedly. I was angry this time as I felt like I was being fooled by the "thing". I checked the toilet and there was not even a single drip of water in the sink. I even plugged off the tv to avoid it from being turned on again. It was at this time the door was knocked and the wind blew towards my face again. I took the towel and began whipping towards the wall of my hotel room like a mad men, hoping that I could scare it away.

I couldn't sleep at all that night. I complaint to the receptionist at the hotel lobby when I checked out on the next day, but she replied me back by just saying: " Biasalah."!!!

*The stories above are all of the compilation of the true stories of the ghostly encounters that reported to occur in Genting Highlands' hotel and apartments. A friend of mine who had worked part time in one of the hotel in Genting Highland resort before said it was pretty common to hear the sound of the door being knocked (only to find out there was nobody at outside later ) and they have already get used to the disturbance that are happening there. Suicide and homicide cases occurred always and often corpses are discovered under the mattress of the unlucky hotel guest. There was a story about a hotel staff spotted a strange black suitcase while cleaning one of the hotel room. The heavy stench from the suitcase was so awful and they soon discovered the remains of a rotten hand laid in it.

The legend of Genting Highlands simply doesn't stop here, It is said that the Karak Highway which is located right below the hill shared its horror as well.. Take a look at the picture below that was captured by a journalist after an accident that happened in Karak tunnel.

Focus on the red circle.. still can't see anything yet?

Let's zoom in the picture; now you know what we are talking ;)

The first story is about the Karak Highway . But what I heard is different . Some rumors said that the couple's car got a problem and the husband went into the woods to find water . Then , the story goes as above .

I have heard more believable stories that happened in Genting. Some of those above are difficult to believe, especially corpse found under the bed.
